Why do I have a feeling that only few--if any--of these movies convey conservative messages instead of liberal ones? And they hope these movies can end Hollywood's blockbuster down trends?

They keep on trying to "educate" us, but they can't because they are ill read and partisan.

Still to come is "Brokeback Mountain," in which two gay cowboys deal with how society will judge them...Good Lord. Watch this movie get nominated for every award Hollyweird has to offer. Two big thumbs way up!
(BTW, put Jennifer Connelly in any movie and I will be there, first in line).

Hollyweirdos can't figure out what people want in movies because they can't see past their own mirrors.

The people that green-light films are out of touch with audiences, is my opinion. I've really been disappointed over the last several years (now that I am no longer in a desirable demographic). It's awful.

Here's a thought: How about if Hollyweird just made decent-quality movies that are about things that normal people care about, and that will not disgust 85% of movie-goers?

You got it. They think that movies can only make you "think" if you "think" about liberal messages. "North Country?" Puh-lease.
I've got a title for some courageous movie maker: "The Rape of Juanita Broadderick."

"too esoteric"?
The only thing neccessary for a successful film is a tale and the ability to tell it. It can be highbrow or lowbrow or in between and it won't matter.
H'wood thinks that film making is a craft--and it is. But STORYTELLING is an art.

This is why I cn't wait to see "Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire." I may see the Zorro movie too. I don't need a political lecture from a bunch of hypocritical moonbats.

Hey, Hollywierd. Wanna make some money? If you want to know what'll sell in the red bits, give me a call. I'll go through your slush piles for you. You've probably tossed a lotta gems just because you wouldn't know what you were looking for if it bit ya.

"North Country," about a precedent-setting sexual harassment lawsuit, is currently playing as is "Good Night, and Good Luck," a look at political fear-mongering. Still to come is "Brokeback Mountain," in which two gay cowboys deal with how society will judge them, and there are others on the list.Jeezus H.
Yeah, there's a recipe for success--make movies that slap your audience in the face and and mock their morals, values and heroes. And they wonder why sales are down 6%. What was the final number last year? I think it was -10%. How did we ever get from John Wayne to fudge-packin' cowboys? What a friggin' disgrace.

The change comes as box office totals are down about 6 percent from last year. What? You mean tuff chicks beating up on panzy men, gay cowboys and euthanasia movies aren't "message movies"? Hollywood's movies are flopping specifically because they all have a darn "message" these days and most of us won't spend money to find out what the latest message from the gay, urban socialists is.......sheesh Hollywood, get a clue.
