Here's one for you: Americans don't even know who the Canadian PM is but my Canadian cousins can go on for hours abOOt how much he HATES President Bush and republicans. What's up with that??
Again, it is IMPORTANT not to generalize.
You make it sound like all "Canadians can go on for hours about how much they hate Bush". That statement is BS. Most Canadians don't give a flying flip. They're concerned with earing a living, paying the bills and raising their families and when they do have a few spare moments - hocky and beer.
It would be more accurate to say that a portion those who have considerably more spare time (e.g. intellectuals and media types), spend a lot of time criticizing the Bush administration.
But then, I've been stateside recently visiting my son who now lives in the U.S. and guess what ----- I can't open any newspaper where there aren't anti-Bush Administration articles.. And even more horrifying, I heard many Americans also criticize the war and the Bush administration...
Sowhat does this all say?? Maybe that there are people on both sises of the border who view events differently that you and I.. Is that possible???
Does that mean that both the U.S. and Canada are anti-American or could it be that some people in both countries don't like current U.S. policies?
Is it possible to like America and American people in general, but dislike whatever administration (e.g. Clinton, Carter, et al) happens to occupy the White House?
