Brief of the United States in Opposition to Petitions for Writ of Certiorari
Its in PDF Format
Is this an indictment?
I don't want to see Cooper's briefs! :)
Well, that should make everything clear if I can find a person who can translate it.
It just looks like the arguments that allowed Cooper and Miller to be jailed.
The Appeals Court denies Miller, Cooper any special privliges as reporters in testifing to the Grand Jury.
The question presented in Brief of the United States in Opposition to Petitions for Writ of Certiorari
QUESTION PRESENTED
Whether, if there is a qualified reporters privilege in the grand jury context, as the court of appeals assumed for purposes of resolving this case, the court of appeals properly found that the privilege was overcome on the facts of the case.
(I)
I'm at a loss here - I was hoping for a Freeper who is a lawyer or is familiar with law to translate for me. BEG BEG BEG!!!
Where's Rita Cosby when we need her???
ONE WHOLE YEAR AGO!
Thanks...and interesting.
It took them a whole year to post this info. This just got posted a few minutes ago. Can you believe that?
This is from May. No new news here.
The "facts of the case" said No per the Judge.
Norm's Dictum :)
When the MSM and its operatives seek to make news and not be satisfied to just report it, bad things happen... to the media as a whole.
Last Page - from May 2005
No it is not. Fitzgerald will, according to a press notice on his site, hold a press conference at 2 P.M.
This is just Fitzgerald's argument to the appeals court against reporter's privilege.
I think this is just how he forced Miller to testify - and how he put her in jail when she refused.
But what the hell kind of prosecutor posts a document like this without a date on it?
You mean THIS is what we've been waiting for all morn long??
I believe it. At the rate they are posting stuff we may get all the papers in about 10 years. I've been checking the website daily since it came up and this was just posted a few minutes ago. I assume we will be getting stuff in dribs and drabs today and next week.
