its not resigning for cause.

to be honest, both Libby and Rove should have left to "spend more time with their families" after the 2004 election. as private citizens, they would have been able to properly defend themselves in this GJ. as government officials, they cannot. Libby was trapped into an indictment, and Fitz will be trying to snare Rove again and again in the coming months if he gets his extension - more testimony, more traps, all with a GJ comprised of persons who demographically would indict him at any time.

We could save millions, maybe billions of money if we outlawed all COMMITTEES, COMMISSIONS and INVESTIGATIONS out of the federal gov't...they're all USELESS!

With all due respect, if the goal was to destroy Rove and he resigned prior to any charges or indictments, the dems won before the battle began.

Perhaps they should have left as you say. They did not and now is the exact WRONG time to leave. Also, perhaps they did not leave because they had no REASON to leave.
