Judith Miller said in her article that the aspen remark referred to a festival in Wyoming. A couple of years ago, she was there, and a cowboy rode up to her and said hello. When she didn't reply, he said, "It's me, Scooter. Don't you recognize me?"

That's the aspen story.

But Libby wrote "Aspens" as in trees -- not "Aspen" the city in CO. Maybe "Aspens" is code for "Aspen" as in the place where their affair started.
