Perhaps someone who knows will pipe up and tell us why someone who is not covert would have classified employment status with CIA.
A friend of ours is retired from the CIA. They lived overseas for years and he was covert. When his kids got older and the parents more concerned about their education, they returned to the US and lived in Virginia.
His status was changed to classified, a less protected status than covert.
