"Am I the only American left that is tired of being threatened on a daily basis by these pirates?"

You are not alone on this issue.

Here are a few historical quotes by Arab leaders concerning destorying Israel. Most of those quoted are dead! Israel remains stonger then ever.

"The Arab nations should sacrifice up to 10 million of their 50 million people, if necessary, to wipe out Israel ... Israel to the Arab world is like a cancer to the human body, and the only way of remedy is to uproot it, just like a cancer." --Saud ibn Abdul Aziz, King of Saudi Arabia, Associated Press, Jan. 9th, 1954

"The existence of Israel is an error which must be rectified. This is our opportunity to wipe out the ignominy which has been with us since 1948. Our goal is clear -- to wipe Israel off the map." --President Abdel Rahman Aref of Iraq, May 31st, 1967

"All countries should wage war against the Zionists, who are there to destroy all human organizations and to destroy civilization and the work which good people are trying to do." --King Faisal of Saudi Arabia, in a speech in Uganda, Beirut Daily Star, Nov. 17th, 1972

"We shall never call for nor accept peace. We shall only accept war. We have resolved to drench this land with your (Israel's) blood, to oust you as aggressor, to throw you into the sea." --Hafez Assad, then-Syrian Defense Minister, May 24th, 1966, who later became Syria's president.

"Our basic objective will be the destruction of Israel." --President Gamal Abdel Nasser of Egypt, May 27th, 1967, nine days before the start of the Six-Day War.

I would believe that most of the people at the protests would be bussed to the demonstration area by people with clubs just like they were during the revolution.

"The world will see the anger of the Islamic world against this regime"

How many spokesmen are there for the 'Islamic world' anyway? As far as I can see there is no 'Islamic world'. The truth is that there are a number of sects of Muslims with no leader who hate each other as much as they hate the 'infidels'. And, within each sect are factions or 'warlords' who hate each other as much as they hate the other 'sects'. And within each faction are competing 'clerics' who hate each other as much as they hate the other 'factions'. Islam, simply put, is a friggin' mess.

"This is scary."

Let your heart not be troubled over this. Firstly the goons are just sabre rattling. I bet you if it is even covered by international press agencies, remember Iran about a week back said the press was no longer welcome in Iran, that they will simply stage some rallies and make it look like the whole Iranian nation is backing president Mahmoud Ahmadinejah and his Mullah masters.
Meanwhile over 50% of the Iranian population cringe at what is happening. Of course official Iranian news channels will cover a few cities where they many buss in huge numbers to participate in the rallies, and stage it so that it looks like the whole country is behind the hairy goon's inflamatory statement. It's all staged. Meanwhile back in Moscow the Iranian Ambassador to Russia is getting a real reaming, and is being told what to take back to Iran.

Exactly... These guys are just talking big in a coordinated fashion. A few reasons:

1. Iraqi constitution passed without a fight.

2. Syria taking a lot of heat for the assassination report. Iran's trying to dissipate some of that with these over-the-top statements. A U.S.-controlled Syria removes the second front of the war.

3. Rally cry for Al Qaida's troops that are stationed in Iran and Syria. They've been getting thumped for quite some time.

4. To remind the Iraqi Shiites that their bigger enemy is Israel, not the Sunnis.

Good reply. To many people unfortunately only can react in knee jerk style. I wonder how many folks here are aware that in 1980 Israel had talks with the Iranians to take out the Iraqi Osirik nuclear plant east of Salmon Pak. Guess what. The Iranians followed through and tried to do it. Of course the couple F4's they sent missed the target by a wide margin and barely escaped. But the point is. Things are not always exactly what we read in the L/MSM.
