I feel badly for Harriet Miers. I can't help it...I cringed every time she was called incompetent. I think she could have been just fine but I do understand the desire to have a better spelled out judicial philosophy.
I wish her Godspeed in whatever she does and I look forward to finding out who the new nominee will be.

She may not have been incompetent, but I don't think she would have been allowed to disprove that in the hearings, thanks to the broken process we now have.
Then again, she might have been.
I feel a little bad for her, as it did get pretty rough.
But them's the stakes.
Don't feel sorry for Ms. Miers. She did not well serve the President by allowing her name to be put forward.
She has demonstrated grace and dignity in withdrawing, and she still has her job.
