We were FRIED because 14 Senators had so much power....but, it seems like it is now just a relatively small amount of PUNDITS that have made this decision....are we happy about THAT??? I believe the White House saw the handwriting on the wall when Republican senators began to discuss voting against her; pundits didn't make this decision.

I believe the White House saw the handwriting on the wall when Republican senators began to discuss voting against her; pundits didn't make this decision. Prayers for Ms. Miers & family, W, and our nation. The fear wasn't that the Republican Senators would reject Ms. Miers.
For her to win it would be the Democrats who voted overwhelmingly to confirm.

Excuse me....but, I think that the pundits coming out the very first day just blasting her....put the Senators on "notice" that anyone that backed her was going to get similar "attention"....
Plus, the Senators job was to have the hearings, first in the Judiciary Committee.....they could have listened and voted her down...
