She wasn't denied a thing. Not a thing. She had her hearings coming up. SHE pulled the nomination. She has 51% of the stock, and told the shareholders she didn't want to go through with it. She could easily have ignored this "tiny powerless minority" and gone ahead with her nomination. She chose not to. Even she had to know she wasn't qualified.

Are you then saying that if you see someone about to step off the curb into traffic who is going to be hit by a car, we should all stand by and watch rather than short circuit "the process"? Do we not have an obligation to speak up when someone is running headlong at a brick wall? When they are making a huge mistake? Or would that then be denying them their right to get hit by a car?

I'll ask again. Are we a tiny, powerless minority, or did we deny her her "right"? Which is it?

The 'tiny powerless minority' are only a fraction of those who barraged Miers with criticism. You are confusing two separate issues.

The 'tiny powerless minority' are the irrational extremists on this forum who yell and scream about everything all the time because they have no real power.

Conservatives have political clout, and this time it was used to defeat a nominee for the SC before she had her hearing.

Yes, she stepped down, but it was not because of lack of courage. I'm guessing that it was to stop the flow of blood.

I will repeat for the hundredth time, I am not talking about those who spoke up and objected to her nomination. I am talking about those who assaulted her and the President.

And that is the last time I'm going to repeat that on this thread.
