Yes, about 40% of the hispanic vote is what elected him. The first generation hispanics are very conservative and still pretty religious... it's the second to third generation the dems are counting on.
I think that number has been revised downward. Also, the number is not very impressive when you consider those hispanics were in Bush's home state.
