Sorry to disagree with you PD...
..but it can never be a good thing to air our grievances (within the Party) in public for our enemy to use and abuse....and they will!

I'm with PD. We need to have a fight over this nomination. Finkstein D-CA was just on saying an SC Justice needs to represent all views. Wrong. We need to make sure this is not about votes but ideas. Rush has this nailed. We need not to win but to win in the realm of ideas.

Some of these food-fights get intense and the opus threads break out. We generally come back and reason with one another after the fur flies.

The ability to air grievances and discuss them is a key difference between us and the Left, which brooks no dissent.

on the other hand airing and settling differences in public shows the far left that we are strong enough to come together and air our views pro and con if our President displeases us.... unlike the Libs who unabashedly supported Clinton no matter what he did.
If the president supports the base who elected him they will go to the mat for him if he nomintes a candidate the left dislikes.... unlike if he nominates a weak candidate to keep from having to fight with the left.

I agree. While the Republicans have been wrong to always seek to appease their foes, in the hopes of broadening their base. The base has been wrong to divide itself over this, in the attempt to remind the party of the former problem.
Seems to be the imprint of someone's work here.
