You just watch the Libs & MSM chortle that this capitulation marks the end of W's presidency.
They'll snear, "He can't even control his own supporters anymore."
Being separated from his conservative base by the Miers nomination could have left the President a lame duck.
Now he has a new lease on life.
Let them smear as much as they want. I think the injury in the base is healed now and this is far more important to President Bush than worrying about liberals smearing him, they do it every second anyway.
They'll snear, "He can't even control his own supporters anymore."
Who cares what they say? It wouldn't have mattered WHAT Bush/Miers did, the Libs & MSM would have been against him.
When the Libs & MSM start on this line of reasoning (and they already have), they're just proving that they do not understand the word "PRINCIPLE."
There is no stronger, more effective base than the conservative one. So when Bush nominates a real conservative, the unity, outreach, strength, and focus-on-message could be overwhelming.
