"Just remember most of the people who opposed Miers were the same who opposed Roberts and oppose everything the Preisdent does. They hate him just as much as the kook left does which is why they sound more and more like them every day."

That is true of some of the punditry - but given time with Roberts, they for the most part let up on their criticism. Also, one should keep in mind that the real criticism was with the stealth approach pursuant to which the outside world purposely doesn't know how the nominee feels about critical subjects. In that sense, opposition to both Roberts and Miers was consistent and rationale (whether one agrees or disagrees substantively) unless you just want to blindly follow.

I supported Roberts but was fairly cool on Miers (apparently a "big government" "get along" world view type). And, I've spent years and money supporting the President. You are wrong.

I opposed Miers, and was lukewarm on Roberts (He's brilliant, but is he an originalist?). Otherwise, I support MUCH of Bush's agenda. All the conservative parts, anyway. Mis-characterizing your opponents views is a time honored tactic, but let's save the hardball for the real enemies, the dems and the media.
