Cooper wouldn't surprise me in the least. And I never thought it about Shep until Hurricane Katrina; he was clearly hysterical and that's not a term I'd apply to most heterosexual men I know.

Shepherd Smith did Katrina in shrieking-fairy mode, breathless Oh-My-God-Oh-My-God to the extent that I ceased watching any Katrina from my first exposure to his schtick.

Earlier, his email editor responded to my query as to why Shepherd Smith persisted in calling terrorists "militants" with a hissy "Well! Just who are YOU!"

Smith is not acceptable from a reportage standpoint, his sexual orientation notwithstanding.
