Well, said. We are in the same situation and we are also prepared. We could easily go a week without going to the store. (That reminds me that I need to fill up my gas cans. Thanks.) I just can't believe that anyone who lives in FL doesn't already have a generator and plywood ready and doesn't stock up before hurricane season hits. Bottled water can be drunk later if you find out you didn't need it and it's not such a huge outlay. Same with food.

I am a native Floridian that happens to have a Hurricanne Kit that is fully stocked for ANY emergency or disaster, a generator with a generator electrical generator panel to the house (not cheap to have installed, but nice when the power is out). It infuritates me to see people on the news complaining about reponse time and lack of supplies. For Christ's sakes, we knew Wilma was going to hit for at least 5 days before she hit!! Jeb was on the news ad nausem saying, "Make sure you have supplies for at least 3 days! We have ample supplies, but it will take some time for us to get it to you!"
