We always let the kids trick or treat in the neighborhood, but we didn't ever spend much on the costumes. Used old clothes and made some pretty interesting things (my Roman soldier costume for elder son was AWESOME! I took a plastic Indians batting helmet and turned it around, stuck a wisk broom through the top, added some cardboard ear flaps and spray painted it gold. :)

Not good to have a cold in the fall though.............or the winter, or the spring, or the summer..........

I like making costumes...this year my daughter found a funnel at the dollar store that we'll use for a tin man costume . And we created a really amazing storm trooper costume from a bucket, duct tape and long johns a few years ago for my son. Then they trick or treat at our neighbors and in-town relatives.

So it's not all bad. And of course, whining gets no where with me. But despite my best efforts, the kids still are able to push my buttons. That is their job after all! : D
