P.S. The sound that I thought was my roof lifting and dropping was actually made by my barrel tiles lifting up and dropping back, not the rood itself.
The neighbors across the street told me that they watched them through the slots in their shutther.
We heard them rip from the safe room...like a big zipper.
I can't describe the sound wind blowing that fast makes...never want to hear it again.

Roof tiles and such can be replaced . . . glad you had a safe room.
Glad also that the storm provided an opportunity for you to get to know your neighbors better, and for the kids to get a taste of what life was like before TV etc. . . .
