Friends from Punta Gorda Isles just lost the pool cage a minute ago. They said gusts above 80 over there. I'm a little ways inland, and it's not quite as bad here, I guess.

Wind gusts outside nearing 100 mph, power gone since 5:30 AM.

Fatalities reported.

I've lost one shutter, two more questionable, NE facing window window compromised, I'll be fine if it holds up until the eyes passes.

The eye is about an hour away from me, will pass right over us.

Working on laptop battery and wireless Cingular Internet service.

Wish us luck.

It has to be little more shallow for that. Maybe we can get a scuba to drag the canoe.
