1. I remember when this story was hot. I was reading a lot about it and following the TV interviews. I concluded that our President was a rapist. The evidence is overwhelming. Particluarly the statements of her family and the roomate at the conference.
2. Estrich should be held to the fire on this. She has, to some degree, used rape as a badge of courage and source of credibility. It is absolutely outrageous for her to turn a blind eye to a victim.
3. I think as a poster above pointed out, she doesn't want to believe it's true, so she has no choice but to avoid it.
