Why do you assume that only "lowlifes" have minimum wage jobs?
And who said anything about you paying for them to have children? We're talking about making a decent wage to live on.

NO, if you had your way and gave everyone 50000 a year to sweep floors, then WTF do you think prices would be to buy consumeer goods. If a hamb has 50 cents in labor costs and you increase it to a dollar then the price would have to be increased accordingly.
Anyone of average intelligence can work hard and get an education and therefore a decent job. Nobody gave me a thing, I worked in the family business from 5 AM to school start then back until 7 or 8 that night. Worked in popcorn booth at the local theater on weekends and this staarted when I was only 10 years old. I went to College by working summers, not buying a car or drugs, working 5PM to 1AM 5 days a week during school. Then joined the Army and finished college after I got out (on the GI Bill). During the last of underegrad school, I was married with children and still finished SO DON'T pretend that that aren't opportunities out there to improve one's lot in life.
Who do you think will pay for these additional labor costs, Bill Gates, Ted Turner, Ophra Winfrey? Who? I'll tell you, ME and every person buying goods and services.
Anybody who wants to earn a decent wage can do it. The problem is these people do not want to earn a living, they want it given to them. No one works at minimum wage for any length of time if they are worth anything at all. I may have hired people at minimum wage, but if they were worth anything at all they were quickly given raises. There is too much of a demand for GOOD workers.
