For shaming them into genuine ambition, his brethren will never forgive him.....
They will listen to him and they will ignore him.
Sad!
Bill Cosby grew up in a house with a father at home. Bill's kids grew up in a house with a father at home. Any lessons here?
When a Black man such as Bill Cosby expresses an opinion which suggests that young men should strive to do better in order to succeed, along come the Jacksons and others that imply that he is an "Uncle Tom."
Yeah many will. But if he touches even one family and makes their lives better, I'd say he's done his job. What a great man, with a head screwed on straight!
Well I grew up in a house with no father because he died when I was five and my sister was two.
My mother never dated and worked outside the home once we were in school.
The difference is we knew we had a father who had loved us and a mother who gave up much for us.
We also had 2 wonderful grandfathers to be surrogate Dads.
How come other groups of people with color come to America and do very well after only one generation or two generations?
The black community needs to find a way out of their funk and Mr. Cosby understands that only pointing fingers at whitey will get you nowhere fast.
God Bless Bill Cosby! He's been a hero of mine since I was first old enough to play my big brother's Cosby albums on the record player, which would have been back in the mid-60's.
I consider him to be a national treasure.
Some Cosby albums I have...
1963,Bill Cosby Is A Very Funny Fellow Right!
1964,I Started Out As A Child
1966,Wonderfulness
1967,Revenge
1967,The Best Of ...
1968,"To Russell, My Brother, Whom I Slept With"
1971,For Adults Only
1973,At His Best
1973,Fat Albert
"To Russell, My Brother" is my all-time favorite comedy routine. Bar none. THE funniest thing I've ever heard.
Watch out, or I'll come in there with "THE BELT!"
but what will poverty pimps like Jackson and Sharpton do then?????
He's a good guy. It's refreshing to hear a black man who's not wacko or out to get a hand out.
Truant kids, unwashed kids, poorly clothed kids, no-dad kids.....None of this can be blamed on Bush, Clinton, Reagan, Carter or anyone else.
It is the fault of the parents. Period.
The black community needs to find a way out of their funk and Mr. Cosby understands that only pointing fingers at whitey will get you nowhere fast.
This is where I have utmost respect for mexicans, both legal and illegal coming here and scrambling to get their kids on the bus and into school. Plus the parents scrambling to get to work everyday and provide for their families.
So many people complain that the school is filled with spanish speaking kids that don't know enough english yet, I say, look at our cities full of 'other' ethnic groups that have lived here for 200 years that refuse to go to school because they don't want to be 'part of the status quo' or whatever.
Trouble is those school districts with these 'others' are the sinkholes of all our public education funding.
He's a good guy. It's refreshing to hear a black man who's not wacko or out to get a hand out.
I am really suprised more don't respect him. I remember listening to his routines on the record player. Loved him then as now!
Although he doesn't need the money,I wonder if he's ever considered entering politics.
But why is it when a white person says these types of things, we're called a racist?
I wish more Black leaders spoke like Mr. Cosby.
