Able Danger was a data mining operation run out of DoD using open sources (meaning nothing was confidential and they didn't use government software to gather the information).

Able Danger identified the Atta cell in Brooklyn one year before 9/11, but nothing happened with the information. Lawyers in Clinton's Justice Department and Defense Department shut it down, it's assumed, but there is a major crunch on to keep the guys from testifying.

Thanks. Maybe Welden's outrage will make a difference.

I have a question, if DOD had given the FBI the information on M. Atta, before 9/11, what would have happened?

Would he have been arrested, picked up, questioned, sent back to Saudi Arabia?
