As for Justice Thomas, at the time of his nomination, he had a track record of conservative judicial philosophy. With Miers, despite her relatively advanced age, we've got nothing.
I would like to see that as well but I fail to see how this justifies the pre-emptive attacks on her. She is not Al Qaeda. Like Rehnquist, she is not a former judge.
The text of her brilliance is the field of conservative judges that she vetted for the Bush administration that so many critics seem to prefer over her.
I also recognize from a political standpoint that the blockbuster writings you speak of would instantly disqualify her in the minds of 40+ dems and 10+ RINOs in the senate. I think you and all of her critics are well aware of this.
