On Miers' side to date: Ken Starr, Lino Gralia, Thomas Sowell, James Dobson, Jay Sekulow, Marvin Olasky, Chuck Colson, Michael Medved, William Rusher, R. Emmett Tyrrell and of course Fred Barnes.

Against her: The Corner, Tucker Carlson, Bill Kristol, Robert Bork, Mark Levin, George Will, Ann Coulter, Laura Ingraham, Michael Savage, and Charles Krauthhammer.

I would rather be in Miers size 6 shoes on this one.

Ken Starr, Thomas Sowell, James Dobson: all pretty luke-warm---the others I don't know about.

Is El Rushbo still waffling?

Thomas was a very tepid endorsement. If you can even call it an endorsement.

Of course, your'e also forgetting in the 'against' column, Rush Limbaugh, David Limbaugh, Mark Steyn, Peggy Noonan, John Fund, almost all of national review online, and many more.

I think you stretch it to put Thomas Sowell and Fred Barnes on her side. Not against her, and putting her appointment into context and/or addressing her critics, is not the same as for her. They have been fairly critical in their comments about the quality of the appointee.

You also forget Mark Steyn, who stated "I'm basically in the neither of the above camp."

Many of us are, though I personally think if I have to be in the 'neither of the above' camp, the President didn't appoint a very good nominee.

Please post their Miers endorsements, I missed them.

It speaks volumes that the Miers opposition camp grows while the Miers' supporters seem to be backing away increasingly.

Did you see they brought out Alberto Gonzales to be one of her cheerleaders!!?! They thought he would excite the conservative base?

Also on your list - Thomas Sowell did say she could be good, but he also criticized her selection, but said we shouldn't 'nuke' her nonetheless.

I will say this, both Fred Barnes and Michael Medved have been enthusiastic about urging her nomination.

So Tucker Carlson had come out againt her! Big news indeed! For some reason, the bow tie brigade - Tucker and George Will leading the pack - don't like this lady. What is it about her that irritates twits and twerps?
