I one of the wait and see attitude people, but if most of the people who support Meirs are like the foaming at the mouth types I see posting on this thread, who call anyone who has reservations about this nomination, everything from idiots to traitors then I am headed to the anti-Meirs side.

I am starting to feel like I am viewing DU posts. I have to wonder if the ones posting all this "Traitor" talk are not in fact DU'rs trying to piss off the fence sitters enough so that they vote against Meirs, that and the stuff coming out of the WH now is starting to sound like Twilight Zone material.

If we were to switch positions and use the same words, you described me one week ago.

It was when those who have reservations about Miers's nomination decided they knew far better then the rest of us that Miers was unfit and who didn't even deserve her day in committee I chose a side.

This is no longer a war of "reservations". This is a war against those who think they have been touched by G*d and own the soul of the Republican Party and the Conservative movement. Only if a nominee is vetted through them will a nominee be allowed to stand.

Sorry but the man I voted for made the decision I put in his trust by voting for him. I did not get to vote for his current opposition though they seem to think they should have the same power accredited to the President.

All I ask is that the Presidents nominee get her day in committee, nothing more.

I fail to see the harm in this. If you want this nominee to be voted down, do so in committee or on the senate floor. Not hijack the process and demand blood before the bull has made it into the arena.
