The fact is that the deal was a power grab by Senators who wanted control over the nomination process, and were not merely content to debate and vote among themselves.

And the president acquiesced. He is weak.

And all of us let it happen.

The people are ignorant of the workings of government, and lazy and decadent. The ruling class has a pretty darn firm grip, and they are not going to let go.

He might be as slow as everyone else to recognizing that the filibuster is the core problem, but I think he's waking up now. I wouldn't call him weak.

Those knowledgeable of the workings of government understand that the President does NOT control the Senate or the House. He "acquiesced" to nothing since he has no control over the Senate. At least be fair in your attacks.
