No, the message Bush and Miers defenders are sending is that in America you let the person speak for themselves before making a judgement.

If these staffers are saying Miers does not have a right to a hearing, then they are NOT the defenders of the constitution and founding fathers that they have been pretending to be all this time. If this is what they really are, then they can not be trusted as a source for republican presidents and should be passed over.
