But now Ann won't STFU and toe the Party Line behind Miers' nomination so she's a mean-spirited, hateful, and evidently shark-jumping, unattractive woman.
Exactly. I'm a conservative. If the Republican party doesn't toe the conservative line, I'm not going to toe the Republican Party line. I can deal with occasional disagreements. But it seems that on most things, Bush and the Republicans are simply not performing nearly up to conservatives' expectations. Spending, judicial appointments, you name it. I'm surely not saying that the Democrats would be better, I'm just saying that the differences between the GOP and them are looking smaller and smaller.

You noticed that too, eh?

Amazing how quick some people here are to do a total 180 on commentators they lauded to the skies and showered with accolades previously--the very nanosecond that commentator offers a whisper of criticism of Bush, she has to face down an avalanche of white-hot hateful, scurrilous, personal comments. Shinjararenai!
I don't think Ann Coulter has to rally behind the Miers' nomination. She should go ahead and criticize it all she wants. I think, however, that referring to the nominee as the cleaning lady, among other things, and attacking her intelligence because she didn't go to a school up to Ann Coulter's standards is beyond the pale. There is plenty of basis for criticism of the nomination without that kind of bitter nastiness.
