I feel that she was following protocol by sending Thank you notes to the Governor of Texas...and then personalizing them..
In fact, I think some of the stuff that freepers post on this thread comes closer to being "mushy" stuff than these notes...
Also, notice that half of them were on her Law Firm's stationary, and was transcribed by a secretary...so they certainly wouldn't be misconstued as anything but "business".
BUT, there are those libs, especially the ditzy dem operatives that would like to make this into a "Bush doing a lady friend a favor" thingy...and using these notes as "evidence"....LOL, right!
And you wouldn't expect her to write a critique in a birthday card. In that kind of thing, you're SUPPOSED to write something nice. I would've been stunned if she had written something like "You should really work harder on immigration."
