Columnist Farah supported GWB in 2004 in part because he thought that Rather had used forged documents to discredit GWB. Also because of the Swift Boat Vets. Now Farah says he regrets his 2004 vote.

After serving 4 years active duty in the USAF I returned to Texas and joined the TANG unit - of which GWB was a new member (147th Fighter Sq - Ellington AFB).
I can say without hesitation that, at that time, there were open slots for pilots such as the one Bush secured. (I was enlisted - E-5) - Also that given the heavy DU political arena in Texas and Houston - a Rep. member of congress, such as Bush Sr, was in no position to pull any heavy strings....
