Sure. But what G said, is that somebody had too much of a history of activism, and some others turned it down. That is different than saying this was the final scene of a Shakespearian tragedy, with all the main players dead on the floor (Luttig, Wilkinson, Garza, O'Connell, Jones, those two obsurce women whose names surfaced late, Clement), and only Harriet Miers left standing to sing the last few measures.
