When W made his promise, we knew who Thomas and Scalia were. Their brilliant opinions, their profound understanding of our Constitutional government, were there for all to see.Are you nuts? Thomas had been on the bench such a short time there were hardly any writings to judge on and those he had were being called "Souteresque" by conservatives.
You knew no more about Thomas than you do about Miers.
