FWIW, the most distressing part is not that our party/philosophy/whatever has its elites—it's that we are all sitting around calling each other names.

Any person who says "the people on my side aren't calling people on the other side names" is either uninformed, delusional, or blind.

Let's make this very clear: The pro-Miers crowd thinks the other side is a group of unappeasable, grumpy elitists. The anti-Miers crowd thinks the other side is a bunch of uneducated, simpleton Bushbots. That, my friends, is a social divide.

Therefore, I believe that what this article is saying is dead on accurate. And my opinion is based on observing real life conservatives who don't spend time chatting politics all the time.
