I don't have the answers. I was out of town for five days and am way behind the news cycle.
Thanks to Spunky for the ping. Great job with the phone call, DFU. Yet another scoop from you.
Cranking up the ping machine......folks, please see DFU's interview with Jayna Davis.
New consolidated list-o-links from FR on its way :)
I am a season ticket holder for OU and was at the game. I can say that anything being brought into the game is checked at the gate ( I always bring binoculars, my wife her purse). i think he'd have a hard time getting in if the bomb was in a back pack. he may have realized this and decided to try plan B.
I can also tell you, I've been to mosque (long story) and it left me cold. One scrawny runt told me "We look on Jesus as a prophet and a very good man, but the gospels that say he was divine were written by Jews so we know they are lied." He said this as casusally as "The weather in Oklahoma is apt to change without a moments notice."
If she can get something really definitive, Jayna is willing to join us on a live discussion thread. She doesn't have it yet.
I would imagine that this perp was one of the Americans who becomes an "honorary Pakistani" within the typical clique of Pakistani students which exists at many major universities. Attending all the parties, other social events, mosques - whatever ...
bump
dressed in a photographer's vest that was stuffed
I thought he was probably wearing a fisherman's vest or a hunting vest that had a warming device, which would have accounted for the wires and general electronic look of the thing.
However, I'm pretty much convinced - for example, by the fact that he had recently moved to an apartment complex inhabited almost entirely by Asians and Middle Eastern Muslims - that he was either an Islamic dupe or an American Islamist nutcase.
Personally, I don't think he knew he was on a suicide mission. I think he believed that he was placing charges to detonate other explosives, and suddenly, somehow - he blew up. Whether this was because he was being followed and somebody took him out with a quick headshot, knowing the charges would detonate, or because the unstable materiel blew up on its own, I don't know. But I think he believed that he was going to live to kill again, which is probably the new Islamic motto.
From what I have read, some of the London bombers apparently thought they were going home after the bombing. And some of the Madrid bombers actually did go home without any problem after they had dropped off and armed their bombs.
Thanks for your input. Can you get a photo of the mosque for us?
Jayna thought it might have been a photo vest, but I'm sure other vests have loads of pockets and are similar. If it was a fisherman's vest, he could have answered Ellison that he wanted the ammonium nitrate to blow up fish. That is easier than a rod and reel.
Doug, anyway we can contact this reporter that is giving Jayna a hard time?
I suspect that the guards have now been instructed to zip it.
You blow yourself up in a public place....IT'S CALLED TERRORISM!
I think we need to give the guy at the fertilizer store a whole lotta credit for being alert and refusing to sell to Hinrichs. Could have been MUCH worse...
Jayna just mentioned it in passing and didn't give me the name. I would guess it is someone on local TV and they probably have a story about her asking the Muslim community for forgiveness.

Doug:
Right proud to get a reply from you of all Freepers. I am not worthy...
I'll see what I can do, but I'll tell you that it looks like a Kennedy compound, highwalls and iron fencing. Oh, and also a strange odor!
I understand. I was throwing it out there, hoping somebody would slay it. Maybe somebody will yet.
