Oh yes I see. The Chechen "freedom fighters" were purely nationalist and had nothing to do with creating an Islamic Caucasian caliphate until they were driven to Wahhabism by desperation. Did you learn that from the New York Times?

If you are going to try and be sarcastic, then at least try and be historical about it. At that point Abhazia was part of a quasi organization of the Caucus Union (now dead) which included not only the Islamic Chechens, Daghistanies and Ingushies but also the Orthodox Ossessians, Abhaz and Russian Cossaks from the area.
