She doesn't have a clue what kind of a Supreme Court justice Miers will make.

Neither do you nor I nor anyone else for that matter. The point is, why take a chance with such a rare opportunity?

What you're missing is that the President knows her. If you were appointing her, then I'd say you're taking a chance. The President knows exactly what he's doing, though, so it really just comes down to the question of whether you trust the President.


I'm getting the impression that a lot of Freepers don't. On the other hand, it's really too late to be moaning about that. If you did not trust him, then you should not have voted for him.

I think that we do know the kind of justice that Miers will be, even more so on the issues of abortion and "gay rights." Harriet Miers may be relatively unknown outside of the Dallas area but she's highly thought of by conservatives around here. She' s been the only person on the Dallas City Council with a lick of sense in the past 20 years, she was president of a huge and powerful law firm, and she had a no-prisoners policy when she ran the Texas Lottery.
