From everything I've read, Hiram Lewis is a solid conservative.

Pro-life,Pro-gun rights, you name it.Heck,he's an Iraq War vet and his NG unit was just called up again to go to the Gulf States hit by Katrina and Rita.

For some reason, he doesn't seem to get much support around here.I've posted stuff about him before, and the response has been a lot of "he can't win" negativity. I like him, I think he's for real.

I agree with you about Lewis. Last year, he came out of nowhere to almost unseat the incumbent state AG. He has a shot at the aging Byrd, though he starts out the underdog.

I am sensing some changes around here...I think you are going to start seeing more freepers in the mood to fight for candidates all over the US that might help the "cause"..

I just got off of a thread that was about the House GOP dropping their demand for off-shore drilling...a demand that SHOULD have been easy to get, considering the cost of gas...but NO, they backed off again.

THAT is why I think if we can find a good conservative candidate, no matter what the state....we should do whatever we can to help...
