Give me a break. Do really think Miers spent 25 years as one of Bush's most loyal supporters will turn around and totally betray him. Would you expect her counterpart in the Clinton Whitehouse, say Bob Bennett, to do the same? Miers is known for her loyalty. She might be a hack, but she aint a liberal. You are suffering from Souter paranoia.

What about that sleeze Dick Morris, didn't he have a long relationhip with Bill? (although I do not believe Miers is cut from the same cloth as that scumbag).

25 years ago Miers was a Demb giving money to the Gore campaign. Move along Lemming, move along.

"Do really think Miers spent 25 years as one of Bush's most loyal supporters will turn around and totally betray him. "

Miers was a personal friend and ally... *not* a "movement" Conservative. Bush has plenty of moderate friends and supporters who we would not want on the USSC. Al Gonzalez is one. Miers may well be another.

"Miers is known for her loyalty. She might be a hack, but she aint a liberal. You are suffering from Souter paranoia."

I have no fear that Miers would be a Souter. I'm sure Bush has vetted at least that much. My fear is the Democrats will get their wish - another O'Connor. Miers, good bad or otherwise, is simply a 'cipher' a 'roll of the dice'.

Bush may know her, but we don't. Nobody can say for sure right now how she'll turn out. And given Souter, Kennedy and O'Connor ... the track record ain't good for 'unknowns' turning into Scalias on the court.
