Typical day on Free Republic. A good percentage of this forum will trash anyone who doesn't hold their narrow minded view of what a "conservative" should be. They are the same ones who always claim they support the President but most never have and either do not vote or vote third party.

It's an implied critisism that those upset are only the usual discontents. It has ben spoken not only by you, but others. And I have had my fill of it.

Do I take it personally? Absolutely.

The reality is that this nomination was greeted quite differently than the Roberts nomination, when instaneous cheers arose. Look up the Live Thread that day. The reality is that a far wider segment of the base that IS very supportive of this President was not happy with this selection. they are not of the mindset to trash the man, but they are expressing their disappointment and they have the right to do so without being linked to the ones you refer to.

I dare say that if we were able to personally tell President Bush how "disappointed" we are....he would be the first to understand.

He would know that we don't know much about Miers...and that it will take time...but you know what...it was being hinted all weekend that Bush would do this/that because of his numbers...

Either from the conservatives not happy or the dems not happy....and one thing we DO KNOW about President Bush, he seems NOT to care so much what the pundits and polls tell him to do----from either side of the aisle.
