Well, I was wrong. I had the good gut feeling President Bush would choose Louisiana Judge Edith Clement. Oops!

I have to think President Bush considers her a good conservative choice, but the best possible pick? I don't think so.

Maybe he's pulling a fast one, thinking she will be rejected in committee so he would then get to name his real choice, a staunch conservative judge that will warm all our hearts.

Instead, it was Gonzales with lipstick. Or better yet, payback for dissin' Gonzales in June when the President really wanted Gonzales but Gonzales was too well known to Conservatives.

Bush didn't flinch. He stabbed.
