When we went to vote in 2000 we thought we were getting a Ronald Reagan Conservative. Not at all. Bush was running as a socialist (Medicare prescription drug plan, etc.), just like Al Gore. I voted for him ONLY because I didn't want Gore & Kerry picking SCOTUS judges. Maybe I shouldn't have bothered.

(We cannot defeat foreign enemies of the Constitution if we yield to the domestic ones.)

That's EXACTLY how I feel. And I told the White House just that a few minutes ago. It will be the Constitution or Libertarian party for me from now on.

And that's just it. We had the chance to shift the balance back, to put some people on the bench that would actually do their jobs according to the Constitution. But no, Dumbya picks a pro-infanticide wingnut with zero-experience and crap for credentials to the USSC???? Maybe saying Dumbya is accurate. Why the lie? This is what I really want to know. Why tell us all that tripe about a Scalia/Thomas type of nominee only to sucker punch us with this pick? Screw the GOP. I suppose I'll have to call myself an Independent Conservative. How sad is it when the party that is supposed to be Conservative just plain isn't? It was said there are 40 true Conservatives in the House but really, what good can 40 do? If those others on the Hill won't listen to them, then those 40 (while fighting the good faith) are fighting a losing battle.
