This nomination is bothering me. I took the President on faith with John Roberts that he'll be a conservative when the going gets tough on the court. I don't feel we should be asked to always blindly support him. I got my email from Mehlman and replied:

Dear Mr Mehlman,

Prove to me that she is "in the mold of Scalia and Thomas" as previously promised by the President and I'll move heaven and earth to support her. If not, I'm sitting home in 06.

I suspect we'll know in time for the '06 elections. If she's Souter in a skirt I'll be sitting home too.
