Well, I've done some googling around, and I can't find anything at all on Harriet Miers beyond what is posted on this thread. Is she pro-life? Who knows?

One blog site posted a letter written by her, and I must say I was not at all impressed by her writing style. It doesn't say much for her IQ or her clarity of thought.

At best, this is a poor choice, cronyism. At worst, it is a betrayal of Bush's base. I don't look to the congressional hearings to bring anything out about her; these hearings never do. I'm waiting to hear from people who know her, people I can trust. That is, if anyone we can really trust knows her, which is doubtful. She seems to be a small-time Texas political operator.

Yep. How depressing. Bush set the bar so high with Roberts that he just crawled underneath it with Miers.

He went from choosing one of the most qualified nominees in history to choosing one of the least.

Does Bush not see that this is probably the straw that has broken the camel's back?
I predict a Democrat sweep in next years races.

Her intelligence is not what I am concerned about.

I'd rather have a conservative justice that isn't a brilliant mind than a moderate intellectual.

Their votes are what counts in the scheme of things.

My bigger concern is her dedication to the Constitutional principle of judicial restraint.

Interesting trying to find her link to "Exodus" something or another. This link recites "EXODUS Ministry, Inc. - Former Member, Board," but a search on the exact phrase "EXODUS Ministry, Inc." has only three hits, one of which is to FindLaw's supposed CV of Ms. Miers.

She said on tape on c-span this morning that she knows Alberto Gonzalez very well. Does that help out? 4/22/05 from Republican Trial Lawyers Assn. seminar. Cheney spoke at the same event.

WORLD MAG SAYS MIERS IS:

1) CONSERVATIVE
2) CHRISTIAN
3) PRO-LIFE.

She is a good pick if this is true.

All this hand-wringing is ridiculous. yeah, I would have liked Brown as well. But, Bush knows Miers. We don't.

There is no reason to freak out about everything. Life is too short. Unless we have reason to freak out about her, RELAX. Trust that the president knows what he is doing.

Or do you actually think YOU know more about her than him despite never having met her?????

In the coming days, we may find reasons to get concerned, but there is none right now. She has never been a judge. So what! She has donated to Dems 20 years ago. So what!

People who know her tell World she is pro-life and conservative. Her pastor says she has a strong faith in his conservative church.

RELAX and put down the torches.
