It's still beautiful, though. I'm old enough to remember that Canada St. used to be lined with huge hundred-year old maples. We tapped 'em in kindergarten and carried the sap into the school to be boiled. When all was ready, our moms came in for a pancake with syrup breakfast. The year was 1957. You can't even see the lake from Canada St. anymore. Tourists seem to be more interested in tee shirts.
