That's my thought.
Why would they censor an actual suicide bombing, if related to Islamic terrorists, and resist the urge to pile on Bush and Iraq?
I realize they tried to downplay the names of the snipers on the East, but they didn't downplay the actual sniping. They used it against him.
"Why would they display an actual suicide bombing?"
What would the effect be on the economy? Attendance at large gatherings, football, baseball, etc.?
What would the reaction of the American people be?
