KEY WEST, Fla. (AP) - A Navy jet crashed Friday off the Florida Keys and its pilot was rescued in the water after ejecting from the plane, the Coast Guard said.
The FA-18 went down 36 miles southwest of Key West around 9 a.m., said Coast Guard spokeswoman Gretchen Eddy. The only pilot aboard was found alive a short time later and was hoisted out of the water by a Navy helicopter.
