IIRC, Draino and Aluminum foil in a plastic bottle will burst (MSM term would be explode).
Legal Battles Continue for Bottle Bombers
Snip>>>>>
According to OPS??? 20-ounce plastic bottles were filled with a chemical compound and placed in trashcans and behind bushes by Knoblauch??? Stipes??? Morgan halls and Leslie F. Malpass Library.
Some people were hit by debris from the bottle bombs??? although no one was hurt. Jagielo said hearing loss and other more serious injuries could have been possible.
The alleged bombers were caught with the help of coincidence when a student had to interview someone for a class project??? according to Jagielo. The individual had to be newsworthy??? and the interviewee happened to be Holtz. When Holtz allegedly admitted the Oct. 29 bottle bombs??? the student went to a faculty member who reported the situation to OPS.
"He kind of felt burdened by the knowledge???" Jagielo said. "He did the right thing??? and he should be commended for that."
Still??? OPS suspected that at least one other person was involved with the bottle bombs due to the amount set off. When they questioned Holtz??? he mentioned Wilkie??? who was originally listed as a suspect.
According to Jagielo??? OPS confronted Wilkie??? and he readily admitted to helping with the bottle bombs.
"Wilkie and Holtz probably would have done something else (if they weren't caught)???" Jagielo said. "We appreciate the support we get from the students."
Jagielo said Holtz was more experienced with creating bombs and experimented with them at home. He also set off a pipe bomb on Sept. 25 in the third floor west stairwell in Corbin Hall. This bomb was a much more serious threat because it used gunpowder.
Wilkie??? according to Jagielo??? sought experience with the bottle bombs and took guidance from Holtz.
