The other message on that same thread:
long haul strike those bastards soon.blow their stinking guts all over their filthy citys towns.only good american is a dead one
This is such an obvious code, can this be for real? Maybe it is if they just don't want the average schmuck to see what they are saying.

It does seem obvious and I'm sure a lot of people would see the ASCII right away, but, why would they go to all the time and trouble otherwise. They do post some pretty bad videos/zip files, etc. on that forum that are also posted at some serious jihad sites and arabic only forums, so, you just never know.

I sure do appreciate you deciphering.

This "code" is clearly meant to be deciphered. The only possible way for this to be a real operational code is if their structure is so compromised that there's no way for them to transmit operational messages using a pre-arranged code but they have to rely instead on the recipient(s) being able to perceive a simple "code" that has been designed to be broken easily. This seems highly unlikely to me, especially since it's trivially easy to devise codes that would be hard for the average person to decipher but that might not be very difficult for the NSA - relying instead on the sheer volume of material out there, and the limited amount of time that the NSA would have to try to decipher everything before the information would reach its target and its operational time frame had passed. Naturally the NSA and the other alphabets would know that as well. So that means that the intended recipients are outside their organization, and most likely outside any government - ie, us.

Given that the code was meant to be deciphered by individuals outside the organization, the question then becomes why. I can only think of two reasons: misdirection (ie, the information contained in the code is completely bogus and meant to distract from the real threat, and/or simply to spread fear), or that this is a hoax by someone who just wants to pull people's chains (most likely posted by some non-terrorist - probably some high school kid who's laughing right now).
