Amsterdam: Flight traffic at Amsterdam's Schipol airport has been severely disrupted by the discovery of a World War II bomb, air traffic authorities said Thursday.
"We are assuming that we will be able to operate with only two instead of three runways," a spokesman said, predicting the disruption would last throughout the day.
A nearby road has also been closed. Initial reports said the bomb was a 500-pounder (230 kg) of British make. It could be sensitive to vibrations and was likely to be primed for explosion. It was found late Wednesday during digging works on agricultural land near a provincial road in the Haarlemmermeer district.
From your White House Daily Briefing:
"There are regional groups, there are local cells, and the President will talk in great detail about the nature of that enemy, and talk to the American people about what this enemy seeks to impose on the rest of the world."
We'll be listening. :-)
